ON SCHOOL
Today I start school... Monday night will be drawing studio from 6:20-9:50. On Tuesday and Wednesday I have my first Education courses. w00t! I am excited! I am most excited for the Education stuff since I've never had it before. Drawing is always fun, but it is (Doris, this term's for you:) "old hat." Education! Now that's... "new hat!"

I had a "moment" in which I almost bought a new backpack, thinking something smaller might be better than the one I have (megabackpack). However, fortunately I talked to Susan about this and she has about 50 extra bookbags that she offered me to use. (This is like when I decided I needed a lunch box and went out and bought one. When Susan got home she said, "Why did you buy this?!" and immediately produced approximately 50 extra lunchboxes I could've used!!) Helpful tip: before buying ANYTHING, ask Susan first.

ON BALANCE AND ORGANIZATION
In the next few days I am going to really attempt to plan a way to keep all of my responsibilities extremely organized. Responsibilities include:

* work (Museum)
* work (SheKnows blog)
* school (3 classes)
* household chores/daily living
* personal health (eating/fitness)
* pet care (fish), plant care (cactus & other plants)

ON HEALTH
I have only half-heartedly been thinking about health, so I want to get better. I want to make sure I carry in lunch to work that is healthy and cut down on buying food/drink at the Museum. I also want to try to eat at home before my classes when I can, or to bring food for dinner (again -- healthy). Not only is it more healthy carrying in food, it is also cheaper than buying junk all the time!

One thing I have not done in AGES is exercise. I am investigating whether Brooklyn College has a gym I can use -- then I wouldn't have to join a gym. I'm thinking about a new schedule where I get up early and do an exercise video before showering and getting ready for work. I think it might not only perk me up in the morning, but get me into some good habits. I know exercise is the big difference in me feeling lazy and feeling great (even though I kinda hate doing it when I am doing it.) I do get into routines at times where I convince myself I like to exercise. Maybe this calls for a new and motivational playlist on the ol' iPod. Anyone have any favorite "workout" suggestions?!

ON FUN PERSONAL AND SOCIAL TIME
Also coupled with the blog I want to make sure that I have enough time for fun craft projects and all. It's so pleasurable for me to work on my projects, and it is also fodder for my blog.

I have been doing well with making time for social activities, I think! I just want to be sure it is not at the expense of other things. (Lately my room's been a mess because I was not really cleaning it or doing laundry for a while.) This weekend I started a GIANT CLEAN. I will continue it this week until it is done! Then I will try to maintain its cleanliness so it doesn't get horrendous again. I might need to get some organizers because my craft stuff can get a little out of control!

ON CLEANING
This weekend, Susan and I conducted a Mega Apartment Clean! It was really gratifying. I think the place looks great. We wanted it to be squeaky clean prior to our New Third Roommate, Alexandra's move-in. She is probably coming this weekend. I'd like my room-clean to be done at this time, too!

ON MARI'S UPCOMING NUPTUALS
Also coming up this weekend: Mari's wedding! This past Saturday night, Susan and I attended (and helped plan) Mari's Bachelorette Party. It was at Japas 38 (the same place where Doris once had a birthday party). I recommended it based on our time with Doris. It is a great place to party, and very economical -- $30 per person for unlimited drinks, sushi, appetizers, and 2 hours of karaoke! The private rooms are really nice and fun!

PERSONAL STRENGTH RUMINATION
I am really good with my date book and scheduling. That is where I excel! Although -- without my date book, I have no memory of what is going on at any given moment!!

ON READING/HARRY POTTER
I finally FINALLY finished Harry Potter. I loved it! I think J.K. Rowling did an outstanding job wrapping up the series. I feel very satisfied. Everyone who was "not allowed" to talk to me about it may resume talking to me about it now. I have to go back and read all your LJ posts about Harry that I abstained from reading. :-)

ON SHOPPING
Things bought this weekend: I went to Filene's Basement with Susan... I got 2 dresses for work and a cami/panty set to go under one of the dresses. I've often wanted dresses for work. They are cute. they're the same but have 2 different patterns. I am wearing one today! Also under the influence of sake and sushi (and a fun time with my pal Aly), I bought some risque lingerie! We went through a "rummage bin" during a sale at a boutique-type place. Oh my!

ON SINGING & SONGS
Susan argues that the songs I make up on a daily basis aren't real songs. I make up songs about our daily lives. Hits include "You are the Sunshine of my Squid." Last night when Susan went to take her contacts out, she announced, "I'm gonna take my eyeballs out," and I made up a "Taking My Eyeballs Out" song. Susan started again telling me that my songs weren't songs, etc. I asked Bob (Bob, as a musician, is an AUTHORITY) and Bob said, "Your songs are valid! You are a master improviser!" Take that, Susan!!!! I put it in print so we don't forget that my songs are songs!

Recently when visiting my mom at home I realized I have an entirely different repertoire for my parents' house. No sooner than I set foot in the door, I was not singing "You are the Sunshine of my Squid" -- I was singing "Alex Trebek"! ("Alex Trebek" = my Leonia, NJ hit.)
